May 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - CHENNAI:

Anna University has sold as many as 1,88,504 forms for admission to BE/B Tech courses through single-window counselling for the current academic year.

Wednesday was the last date for issue of forms in centres other than Chennai. The University has received over one lakh filled-in forms so far. The last date for issue and receipt of forms in Chennai is Friday.

To avoid last-minute delays, the University has announced that candidates may submit their filled-in application forms by deadline, May 29, even if they have not got the relevant certificates from government authorities.

Rhymend Uthariaraj, secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, said since the results of certain Higher Secondary Boards are being published late students tend to postpone the submission of application forms as they do not possess document such as nativity certificate/first graduate certificate/copy of mark sheet/copy of certificate.

“Students will delay the submission of filled-in forms saying they did not get the necessary documents. We do not want to postpone the deadline. Such students may apply before deadline and then, on receipt of the documents, they may quote the application number and submit photocopies of the relevant documents along with a covering letter,” he said. The letter must be addressed to the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, Anna University, Chennai 600 025.”
