Former Union Minister and PMK MP Anbumani Ramdoss has taken exception to the Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (CPCL) decision to recruit 104 junior engineering assistants from all States.
In a statement here, he said it was contrary to the standard norms practised by the public sector organisations while filling vacancies for jobs below the level of officers.
“The normal practice is to recruit persons from the State where the company is located. Only officers are recruited from all over India,” he said. Mr. Anbumani also pointed out that the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s Mumbai division had advertised for 205 jobs and the only criteria was that the candidate must have registered in one of the employment exchanges in Maharashtra.
