Now, children at the Adyar Cancer Institute have something to look forward to — their own little ‘Happy Place’.

The Madras Mylapore Round Table 3 and Madras Mylapore Ladies Circle 4 built a 4,000 sq.ft. play park, named the ‘Happy Place’, at the Institute, a press release said.

Carefully crafted to meet the needs of children, the park features bird houses, colourful flowering plants and a podium to host plays and celebrations. Nochi plants line the park to keep snakes and insects at bay.

V. Shanta, chairperson of the Institute and, later, actor Gautami Tadimalla participated in the inauguration on Monday at the Mahesh Memorial Ward of the institute.
