Advocates to boycott courts on February 18

The Madras High Court Advocates' Association on Tuesday said that advocates will abstain from courts and tribunals and observe ‘Black Day' on February 18 to condemn the government's “inaction” in the matter relating to the attack on lawyers on the High Court premises on February 19, 2009.

The association, at its executive committee meeting here presided by R.C. Paul Kanagaraj, president, said that though some orders were passed, advocates had not got justice.

Women Lawyers Association president D. Prasanna and Tamil Nadu Advocates Association president S. Prabakaransaid their organisations would also boycott courts on February 18.
