Actor Vijay met Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami at his residence on Greenways Road on Sunday.

The actor is awaiting the release of his upcoming film ‘Mersal’, which is expected on Deepavali day on October 18.

The meeting reportedly lasted over an hour and Minister for Information and Publicity Kadambur C. Raju accompanied the actor. The reasons for his sudden visit remain unknown, but sources said the actor discussed the recent developments related to entertainment tax on the Tamil film industry, which has been reduced from 10% to 8 %.
