The Maduravoyal police nabbed, quite by accident, a murder accused who had been absconding for a month.

On Wednesday, the police arrested Amulraj alias Thamizharasan (41) for threatening K. Ramanathan, who works as a Tasmac bar assistant.

According to the police, Thamizharasan consumed liquor and threatened the bar assistant with dire consequences for demanding payment. Based on a complaint, the police arrested Thamizharasan. During enquiry, the police officers found that Thamizharasan, a native of Chengalpattu, was an accused in the murder of Nawab of Chengalpattu. He had gone into hiding after the murder.

He was remanded to custody on Thursday.
