May was a good month for Aavin as it sold milk-based products worth ₹16.89 crore in the city alone. This is ₹3.90 crore more than the sales last May.

Chennnaiites have consumed 2,03,639 ice creams in just the past month, said Aavin sources. Production has increased at the milk major’s Ambattur products dairy.

The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation, whose popular brand is Aavin, has been pushing staff in its 187 parlours, 500-odd franchise retail outlets and over 30 wholesalers to sell more products.

Aavin Managing Director C. Kamaraj told The Hindu that individual targets were set for every seller of Aavin products.

“The rest of the State has also done better than last year," he said.
