Conference on free software technology

Free Software Movement of India is conducting its second national conference — 4CCon — in Chennai. The event will be held from January 26-29 at B.S. Abdur Rahman University (formerly B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College).

The conference is targeted at students, IT professionals, academics, policy makers and researchers.

On the first day (January 26), there will be technical workshops on over 20 cutting-edge topics such as Machine Learning, Animation, GIS, Incremental Design and programming.

On the second and third days (January 27-28), there will be a variety of seminars and panel discussions on technical topics as well as on the impact of technology on society. Key speakers include the chairman of pioneering software company ThoughtWorks Neville Roy Singham and Guardian columnist Evgeny Morozov, as well as representatives of the government and industry from India and abroad.
