7th edition of Terry Fox Run at IIT tomorrow

This Sunday, thousands of people are expected to descend upon IIT-Madras to run, walk, wheel and ride for a noble cause.

The seventh edition of the annual free Terry Fox Run, Chennai, will take place on between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. August 23, starting at Open Air Theatre in IIT-Madras. The Chennai event is jointly supported by IIT- Madras and the Rotary Club of Madras East. Voluntary donations generated from the event will be given for cancer research.

Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Jayanthi Govindan, president, Rotary Club of Madras East, said that the run would cover a distance of six km on the campus. More than 20,000 participants were expected, she said. “Over 15,000 people took part in the last edition of the event. A sum of Rs.30 lakh was generated by voluntary donations at the event and was given for cancer research,” she said.
