Five people, including a child and two women, were injured when a private bus lost control and toppled on Inner Ring Road at Ekkaduthangal on Thursday. The injuries were minor and all of them were discharged after being treated as out-patients.

The bus, driven by Viswanathan (43) had left Thiruvananthapuram and after a brief stopover at Tiruchi, left for Chennai at 11 p.m. on Wednesday. The bus was headed to Koyambedu.

The bus had descended from the bridge across Adyar river, when Viswanathan lost control.
