Students who took the Common Admission Test for business schools in the country on Sunday say it was moderately difficult.

The much anticipated test assesses the students on their analytical and logical reasoning skills besides English comprehension ability.

A total of 2.3 lakh candidates are estimated to have taken the exam this time. The test was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management-Lucknow, this year. Since the number of questions were the same as last year, it was a relief to aspirants.

Vinodh Kumar, who is currently working in a private bank in the city, said the difficulty was as anticipated by him and his friends. “We had prepared for it but we anticipated the difficulty,” he said.

An alumnus of College of Engineering Guindy, he had prepared well and expected to score around 158-160.

Coaching centres said the questions were on the expected lines, similar to CAT 2016.

IIM-L did not disclose the number of questions per section.

While the verbal ability and reading comprehension section had 34 questions, logical reasoning and data interpretation section had 32 questions.

According to some students, the LR and DI section was challenging as they had not been exposed to some of the questions asked in the section.
