A 19-year-old youth died on the spot when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a parapet wall at an underpass near BEL Circle on Wednesday night. The deceased, Arun Kumar, was a resident of Deshabandhu in Dodda Bommasandra.

According to police, the accident occurred around 11.15 p.m. when Arun was attempting wheelies and other stunts. One of the stunts went awry and he hit the parapet wall separating the underpass and the service road leading towards Kuvempu Circle and Hebbal, the police added.

He sustained severe head injuries and collapsed on the ground bleeding profusely. The pillion rider, who sustained minor injuries, fled from the spot.

Passers-by alerted the police who took him to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Based on the registration number of the vehicle, police tracked his family.

The police are looking for the pillion rider.
