YatraGenie launches cab services in Bengaluru

YatraGenie, an online bus ticketing and cab booking platform, has launched City taxi and outstation taxi rental services in Bengaluru.

A press release mentioned that the company would initially introduce 100 cabs within the city and 50 cabs for outstation travel.

Renil Komitla, President and CEO, YatraGenie, said, “The growing demand for city taxi and outstation taxi services in Bengaluru has prompted us to venture into this market. The Taxi service market is projected to significantly grow in the coming years. Clearly the market is underserved and there is still room for new players that can innovate and serve customers better, not just in metro cities but also in two tier cities”.

The company plans to partner with cab operators to introduce 1,000 cabs within the city and 500 taxis for outstation travel.

The release also mentions that YatraGenie will also launch its services in Guntur, Rajahmundry and Vishakhapatnam by end of March, 2015.

Cabs can be booked thought the online portal www.yatragenie.com or through the android-based YatraGenie app. Customers can also call customer care services 080 20 20 20 20 for booking.

The city taxi service will be charged at Rs. 100 for first 6 kms and Rs. 15 per km thereafter. Apart from Bengaluru, YatraGenie has already launched services in Nellore, Tirupati, Gudur, Kavali and Vijayawada.
