A woman riding a two-wheeler was crushed to death after a tourist van ran over her on Thursday morning at a busy junction near Banaswadi in Pulikeshinagar traffic police limits.
The deceased, Sharon Mary Jacob (33), is a homemaker and resident of Richard’s Town. She was returning home from swimming classes when the accident took place around 11.30 a.m.
According to the police, Sharon allegedly lost control and fell while entering the main road from the service road. A speeding tourist van that was heading towards Banaswadi ran over her killing her on the spot.
Passersby alerted the police, who arrested the driver, Srinivasalu, and seized the vehicle. A case has been registered in Pulikeshinagar traffic police station.
