A 23-year-old woman was smothered to death, allegedly by her husband on Tuesday night. The deceased, Malathi, hailed from Odisha and lived with her husband Kailash Chandra Behara and their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter in a company accommodation in Kamakshipalya
According to the police, the accused used a pillow to smother his wife, after which he fled from the house. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when neighbours heard the incessant cries of the child and went to check on the family.
They found the body of Malathi.
The Kamakshipalya police have taken up a case of murder.
