A 38-year-old woman was killed and four others were injured on Thursday after the autorickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a goods carrier and toppled.

The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi, a native of Tamil Nadu.

She and three of her family members arrived at the Cantonment railway station to attend a relative’s funeral in Ulsoor around 3 a.m., and boarded an autorickshaw.

While on their way to Ulsoor, the three-wheeler was hit by a goods carrier, and toppled.

The occupants were taken to Bowring Hospital. Lakshmi, who was sitting at one end of the seat, was declared brought dead.
