The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE), which is facing shortage of evaluators in some subjects, has said that it will withhold results of pre-university students if colleges fail to upload the list of eligible evaluators who can be roped in for evaluation work.

The department is facing shortage of evaluators in Basic Maths, Logic, Home Science, Geology, Education, Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science, Electronics, Carnatic Music, Hindustani Music, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Arabic, French and several other subjects.

“We want to ensure that there is no shortage of evaluators in any subject and, therefore, have decided to take up this measure,” an official in DPUE said.

The department said that principals had to send these details at the beginning of the year, but many colleges have failed to do so. Principals have been given time till January 10 to upload the details, physical copies of which have to be signed and sent to the head office by January 16.
