At Bangalore University’s Women Studies Department, more men have opted to study the course than women. Out of 26 students who have been admitted to the programme in the 2017-2018 academic year, 17 are men. This is the trend in other universities across the State as well.
While some are keen on studying the subject, many opt for the course as they feel that it is ‘easy’ and would give them time to prepare for competitive entrance examinations, like KAS and UPSC.
