It is the third day of the Income Tax raids on Energy Minster D.K. Shivakumar and his associates and department sleuths continue to search and seize documents. On day two of the raids, I-T sleuths, who arrived with CRPF personnel, scrutinised several documents at the Minister’s chambers at the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. Congress leaders including Chief Minster Siddaramaiah have questioned the timing of the raids and called it politically motivated. They have also opposed the use of central forces to conduct the raids.
It all started in August 2, when I-T officials simultaneously landed at the doors of Mr. Shivakumar’s residence and the Eagleton resort, where MLAs from Gujarat have been lodged.
