A day after a seven-year-old Sahana was killed after a wheelie attempt went awry, the police have arrested a 18-year-old.

According to the Chikkajala police, the accused was arrested based on a complaint by Sahana’s parents. The man was hiding in his aunt’s house in Maranayakanahalli.

The police said, “The man does not have a driving licence. He took his father’s bike without his knowledge. As the bike is registered in the name of his father, we have summoned him on Saturday.”

Sahana, daughter of Venkatesh, was standing outside her house in Maranayakanahalli Colony near Utthanahalli watching fireworks display on Thursday when the teen, who was speeding down the road, lost control of the bike and hit her. Soon after the accident, he left the bike and fled from the spot. Sahana sustained multiple injuries and was rushed her to a private hospital where she succumbed.
