Water tariff may go up

May 08, 2014 12:48 am | Updated 12:48 am IST - Bangalore:

The BWSSB is looking to revive a proposal to increase the water tariff.

At a review meeting chaired by city in-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy, BWSSB chairperson M.S. Ravishankar said that the tariff has not been revised for the past 10 years.

He said that the hike is necessitated given the increase in the power tariff over the same period. “Though the board has the powers to increase tariff , we have kept it on the backburner due to various reasons, including the election code of conduct,” he said.
