Water supply to many areas affected

Water supply to areas coming under South, South Eastern and South Western parts of Bengaluru was affected on Sunday and likely to continue on Monday. This is due to a burst over of Incomer Circuit breaker in 6.6 kV transformer on Sunday at Harohalli station of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).

According to a BWSSB release, Cauvery water supply projects came to halt for nearly 45 minutes following the transformer burst that occurred at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday. However, because of some swift action taken by the BWSSB officials and staff, the situation was brought under control and pumping, except the first stage, resumed, the release stated.

Water supply is likely to be affected on Monday in the following areas: Shanthinagar, Austin Town, Neelasandra, Ulsoor, HAL Airport Road, Domlur, Aanepalya, Richmond Town, Koramangala, Adugodi, National Games Village, Ejipura and surrounding areas, Hanumanthnagar, Girinagar, Basappa Layout, Ashok Nagar, whole of Chamarajpet, V.V. Puram, J.J. Nagar, Rayapura, V.S. Garden, Binny Layout, T.C.M. Royan Road, Basavangudi, Thyagarajanagar, Narasimharaja Colony, M.N.K. Park and surrounding areas.
