Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu experienced first hand the frustration among that citizens feel about Namma Metro. His early morning ride on Namma Metro turned into a feedback session with many users urging him to direct the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) to hasten the Phase 1 and ensure that Phase 2 is on track.

The Minister, who was in town for an event, boarded a metro train at 8 a.m. from the Sampige Road station and travelled till Nagasandra and back on Reach 3. He was accompanied by senior BMRCL officials. “He spoke to several passengers en-route. While they stated that they were happy with the services currently operational, they urged him to speed up the progress of work on all phases,” a senior BMRCL official said.

Later, Mr. Naidu took to Twitter to announce news of his interaction.

Almost immediately, Twitter users took to criticizing his ‘everything OK’ message and asked him to enquire into the recent vandalising of metro stations by supporters of a Congress MLA.

Several other issues being faced by Bengaluru like bad roads on the Outer Ring Road were also raised.
