The Joint Committee of Trade Unions (JCTU), Karnataka, has set May 16 as the deadline for the police to withdraw all cases against garment workers.

H.V. Ananthasubba Rao, secretary, JCTU, said in a press conference on Friday that if the government did not withdraw cases, they would launch a mass dharna, including a Bengaluru bandh, on May 16.

Meanwhile, the Garment and Textile Workers’ Union has now formed a fact-finding committee, led by Ramadas of PUCL, with members from the Alternate Law Forum.
