The cyber crime police of the Criminal Investigation Department on Tuesday nabbed two foreign nationals, while they were trying to collect the skimming devices fixed at an ATM on the busy M.G. Road.

The CID officials told reporters here on Friday that the accused have been identified as Dan Sabian Christian (40) from Romania and Mare Janose (44) from Hungary. The accused confessed that they used the data to clone cards and also to make online purchases.

The incident came to light when bank staff found a skimming device and a miniature camera at the ATM kiosk. They alerted the manager, who in turn informed the cyber crime police. A police team laid a trap and waited for the accused to come and collect the device.

The police suspect that the accused are part of an international bank fraud racket.
