Two software engineers employed with a company that provides banking solutions are on the run after being accused of stealing the firm’s source code and selling it to a rival.

Based on a complaint filed by the senior management of JMR Infotech India Private Limited, the Whitefield police have registered an FIR against Basavaraj Siddappa and Sandeep Devraj for criminal breach of trust and cheating.

According to the complaint registered by Vijay Raina, Basavaraj tendered his resignation in April 2018 as he planned to join another IT company. He was replaced by Sandeep Devraj. Basavaraj allegedly colluded with Sandeep to steal the source code along with other relevant information. He allegedly used the information in his new workplace to develop a new software.

The police are investigating the case based on the findings of an internal probe conducted by JMR.
