A truck driver was killed and over 25 bus passengers sustained injuries when a speeding bus collided with a truck at Dobbespet on Tuesday.
The bus carrying over 40 passengers was heading towards the city when the truck going towards Tumakuru slowed down abruptly in a bid to take a U-turn. The bus driver lost control and the bus collided with the truck, killing the driver on the spot. Passers-by rushed to help and shifted the injured to Tumakuru government hospital. Both the vehicles were completely damaged due to the impact.
The identity of the driver is yet to be ascertained.
