Trifurcate BU, says BJP Yuva Morcha

The BJP Yuva Morcha has said that Bangalore University need to be divided into three – Bangalore North, South and Bangalore Rural – to ensure quality education for students studying in over 600 degree colleges.

In a press note here on Sunday, BJP Yuva Morcha President Saptagiri Gowda A.R. said that executive committee of the Morcha has discussed various problems faced by students studying in colleges affiliated to Bangalore University and passed a resolution demanding the State Government to trifurcation of the university.

The resolution would be submitted to the Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, who is the chancellor of the University, Higher Education Minister R.V. Deshpande and the university vice-chancellor B. Thimme Gowda.

It also demanded establishment of a separate university for B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses, a constitution of an expert committee and a task force to deal with the issues related to the university.

The resolution said the university functioning need to be activated to ensure textbooks and mark cards on time for students.

Over three lakh students studying in 600 colleges affiliated to the university, it said.
