Traffic snarls in core city

December 11, 2017 04:04 pm | Updated 04:04 pm IST - Bengaluru

The Central Business District (CBD) of the city was marred by heavy traffic snarls on Monday, as a huge protest procession by Dalit organisations blocked traffic at Anand Rao Circle.

The Dalit organisations were demanding the implementation of Justice Sadashiva Commission Report, that recommends internal reservation among Scheduled Castes. “The protesters blocked traffic at Anand Rao Circle throwing traffic in the core city out of gear,” said Abhishek Goyal, DCP (Traffic-East).

The traffic block at Anand Rao Circle had a snowball effect causing vehicle pile-up through the entire core city. Traffic snarls were observed on Seshadri Road, Majestic area, Okalipuram, JC Road, Nrupatunga Road and KG Road, till late in the afternoon.
