TMEIC to open factory in Tumakuru

Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC) said it will inaugurate its first motor manufacturing facility in India in Bengaluru soon. The green field motor factory, which is coming up at the KIADB Industrial Area in Vasanth Narsapura Phase 2 Dist. Tumakuru, will manufacture products specifically for the Indian market and also global business of TMEIC.

“The products manufactured in the new facility will cater to various infrastructure industries in the country, like oil and gas, steel, cement, water, petrochemicals, among others,” TMEIC said in a release. The new facility is part of the proposed investment of Rs. 500 crore in the State by TMEIC. According to a company official, it has invested around Rs. 400 crore in Karnataka, including the Rs. 300 crore for the motor factory and Rs. 100 crore for the acquisition of AEG Power Solutions last year.
