Three mowed down by buses in separate incidents

State Road Transport buses turned killers on Sunday, as in three separate incidents three buses killed three men of which two were pedestrians.

An auto driver was crushed to death as a speeding Tamil Nadu State Road Transport bus collided with his autorickshaw head on at N.R. Junction on Sunday night. The deceased was later identified as Aijaz Ahmed (55), a resident of Pension Mohalla.

The auto driver was riding from Hudson Circle to Town Hall when the speeding bus, travelling from the opposite direction, collided head-on with the autorickshaw. Aijaz Ahmed suffered severe head injury and was killed on the spot. Ulsoor Gate Traffic police registered a case and arrested the bus driver.

In two other incidents, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses mowed down two pedestrians in Bengaluru on Sunday night.

An unidentified 60-year-old man was mowed down by a speeding KSRTC bus on Sarjapur Road. The deceased had jumped from the road’s central median and was trying to cross the busy road, police said. Madiwala Traffic police registered a case and arrested the bus driver.

In another incident, a construction labourer Srinivas (50), was mowed down by a speeding KSRTC bus on Dr. Marigowda Road, when he was trying to cross the road. The deceased hailed from Tamil Nadu and was a resident of Vinayaka Nagar in Bengaluru. Wilson Garden Police registered a case and arrested the bus driver involved.
