The Bellandur police, on Friday, arrested a 37-year-old woman along with her friend for allegedly creating a ruckus at the station and robbing the mobile phone of a police constable on May 31.

The accused, Manisha Sharma, a resident of Bellandur, had gone to the station along with her friend Akshatha Siddarth (20) for a follow-up on the domestic violence case she had filed against her husband.

The police alleged that Manisha raised her voice and created a ruckus at the station. Constable Vrushabhendra tried to video record the incident on his mobile phone. Enraged, Manisha allegedly assaulted the constable, tearing his uniform. She escaped from the station after robbing him of mobile phone, the police claim.

Based on the complaint filed by the constable, the Bellandur police arrested Manisha, Akshatha, and Sanjesh Dal, their legal advisor, on charges of abetment.

The trio have been booked for assault or criminal force to deter public servant to discharge his duties, robbery, breach of peace and criminal intimidation. They have been remanded to judicial custody.
