Theatre activist Chokkalingam passes away

R. Chokkalingam, a prominent theatre activist and one of the founders of KGF unit of progressive cultural organisation Samudaya, passed away at KGF on Tuesday. He was 66 years old.

Mr. Chokkalingam migrated from Tanjavore in Tamil Nadu in 1971 to work in the now defunct Bharat Gold Mines Ltd (BGML).

He was active both in Kannada and Tamil theatre activities in KGF as an actor, music director and lighting technician.

He has served as a state committee member of the Samudaya for a long time. The KGF unit of the organisation has condoled his death.
