An 18-year-old student was killed when a speeding goods vehicle knocked his scooter down on Gayathri Nagar Main Road in Malleswaram on Tuesday.
Vivek, a II PU student of MES College, was returning home after visiting Saibaba temple on account of Guru Poornima when the mishap occurred. Vivek slipped from the bike and sustained severe head injuries. Passers-by rushed him to a nearby private hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
The Malleswaram traffic police have taken up a case against the vehicle driver and are investigating.
