Six nabbed for murder of 22-year-old

The victim had got into an argument with one of the accused during a game of cricket

Six men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old man, which took place on June 17 in J.C. Nagar.

The victim, Manikantha, was a resident of Kamalanagar. According to the police, the day he was murdered, he had been in a fight with his friend Shivaji while they were playing cricket on a skating ground in the locality.

Later, around 6.15 p.m., Shivaji allegedly ganged up with his friends and attacked Manikantha with a machete and other sharp objects. The Mahalakshmipuram police took up investigation based on a complaint from the victim’s mother.

The accused have been identified as Shivaji, 30, Puneetha, 23, Vinoda, 30, Bharath, 22, Chethan, 23, and Bhaskar, 23, all residents of Mahalakshmi Layout and Nandini Layout.

The police have seized the murder weapons and two bikes from them.
