A 12-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted allegedly by her maternal uncle delivered a baby boy in Dobbespet hospital near here on Monday.
The girl’s parents rushed her to the hospital after she complained of severe stomach ache and she delivered a baby boy later. The girl, studying in 7th standard in Kyatasandra village in Bangalore Rural district, hails from a poor family. The parents did not want to file a complaint, but came to the hospital for the delivery of the baby and hush up the case.
However, the hospital authorities informed the police who rushed to the spot and conducted inquiries. The parents of the girl confessed to the hospital authorities that her maternal uncle was responsible for the crime.
The parents are refusing to file a complaint, but the police have informed the jurisdictional Kyatasandra police to investigate the case, Deputy Superintendent of Police, R. Mallesh said.
