Setback for firecracker traders

Several wholesale traders in firecrackers suffered a setback as the Karnataka High Court on Monday refused to stay the cancellation of their licence by the Joint Chief Controller of Explosives (South Circle).

The licence cancellation followed withdrawal of No objection Certificate (NoC) by the police.

Justice Dilip B. Bhosale rejected the interim plea of Madhi Trading Co, Nagaraj Trading and others while adjourning further hearing on their petition to December 3.

The court observed that the police commissioner’s action was proper.
