A senior police official attached to City Armed Reserve is in the dock for allegedly harassing junior rank police personnel.

CAR Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration) Vedesh Kumar has also been accused of extorting and misappropriating money in the name of CRTC training. Mr. Kumar has been serving in CAR wing for 17 years.

According to sources, the personnel filed a complaint with Director General of Police Rupak Kumar Dutta and the Home Ministry stating that they were being harassed at work and that Mr. Kumar was extorting money from them. Following this, City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood has been asked to submit a report in this regard.

Based on Mr. Sood’s direction, a probe has been ordered and report will be submitted soon, said a source.
