The Sampige Road junction has turned into a traffic quagmire after Namma Metro Reach 3, 3A was commissioned on Saturday.

The stretch between Okalipuram and Sampige Road junction is still blocked partially causing traffic snarls.

Adding to the woes is the absence of traffic lights at the junction without which commuters exiting the metro station and heading towards Seshadripuram or Majestic or entering the station from these directions struggle since the traffic flow remains unregulated.

Soon after the Sampige Road-Peenya line was thrown open to public on Saturday, the junction became chaotic and absence of a traffic police was also felt.

On being contacted, B. Dayananda, Additional Commissioner (Traffic), acknowledged that with the metro station drawing huge crowds, the junction has turned chaotic.

He said that they will study the movement of traffic and take suitable steps to help free flow of traffic.
