Runaway from Bihar traced in Cottonpet

A teenaged girl from Bihar who eloped with her boyfriend was rescued by the Cottonpet police after they traced her location through her mobile phone.

The police were tipped off by the Superintendent of Police of Kaimur district in Bihar who informed them about the 17-year-old’s abduction and that her mobile phone location had indicated that she was in Cottonpet in Bangalore.

Police said the girl had run away with a young man from Bihar following which her family had lodged a complaint.

The Cottonpet police traced her near Balekai Mandi and packed her off to a girls’ home in Madivala.

The young couple had arrived here a week back. The police said that the young man was absconding.

The Cottonpet police said that the Kemmur police is expected to take the young lady back to Bihar from here on Wednesday.

Further investigation is on.
