Two persons died in two road accidents and three persons ended their lives in the city since Friday night.

Shivajinagar resident Jamshed Badshah (30), a goldsmith, was killed when an APSRTC bus ran over him near Balekundri Circle late on Friday, the Cubbon Park police said.

Badshah was riding home when the bus, which took a sweeping turn at the circle, brushed against his two-wheeler, sending him flying. The rear wheels of the bus ran over Badshah, killing him on the spot. Bus driver Ram Babu was arrested.

In another accident on Saturday morning, Satendar (18), a painter, was run over by a tractor as he was trying to cross the Outer Ring Road in Marathahalli, near Karthiknagar bus-stand. The Uttar Pradesh native had just got down from the bus. The HAL Airport police seized the tractor and are looking for the driver who fled.

Hang themselves

The body of Shubha (23), who hanged herself in her paying guest accommodation in HMT Layout on Friday, was discovered by her roommate Jyothi on Friday night.

The Yeshwantpur police said Shubha had left a note apologising to her parents.

Shubha lived with her mother in Kuwait ever since her parents divorced about 15 years ago. Her father, Panduranga, a real estate businessman, is a resident of Bommanahalli. About two months ago, the unemployed Shubha had come down to the city and had resumed ties with her father.

Chinnathambi (19), an autorickshaw driver, hanged himself in his home in Ambedkarnagar.

The Yeshwantpur police said his sister Gomathi was to be married soon and she and their mother, Vanamathi, had gone to Tamil Nadu for shopping. The suicide came to light when they returned on Friday night.

Shilpa (15) hanged herself from a tree in front of her residence in Benson Town in the early hours of Saturday.

The J.C. Nagar police said she left no note but were told by her parents that their daughter suffered frequent stomach ache.
