The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has come out with a 1,200-page report on fake nursing degrees allegedly awarded by a Bengaluru-based private nursing college.

Sources said that this report points to the existence of a huge racket and a decision will be taken on Friday at the varsity’s syndicate meeting on the way forward.

Sources said that they have found fake nursing degree certificates and other documents involving not just the Bengaluru college, but also others. “This includes forged nursing degrees and fabrication of other documents,” a source said.

The university has submitted details to the Malleswaram police and lodged a complaint against the college. The forgery came to light after it was learnt that an Iranian student claimed that she had been cheated by a nursing college in Nandini Layout.

The university formed a team to inspect the college, following which they unearthed the scam.
