The State Cabinet on Friday decided to stand firm on its decision to relocate Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) and affirmed that the Supreme Court — which is set to hear the case on January 13 — would be informed about it.

The government decided to back the High Court of Karnataka verdict with regard to the relocation of the BTC to outskirts of the city.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra, who briefed presspersons on the Cabinet decisions, said the State Advocate-General would be informed of the Cabinet decision on the BTC.

The BTC has challenged the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court. The SC had sought the State government’s stand over the issue ahead of the January 13 hearing. “We have decided to stand firm on the issue,” he said.
