Rain causes water logging

The problem was reported in several parts of the city

Light to moderate showers lashed the city causing traffic to slow down on Monday evening.

According to Met Department officials, there was 16.4 mm rainfall in the city and 1 mm rainfall in HAL limits as of 8.30 p.m. on Monday. Very soon, there was water logging in several parts of the city, including in front on Cubbon Park metro station (towards the HAL exit), Gandhi Park in Cox Town and Gandhi statue on M.G. Road.

Acording to traffic officials, Ramamurthy Nagar, Tin Factory and Kudlu stretch were among the localities where movement of vehicles was slow.

There were complaints of trees and branches falling in A. Narayanapura, Vijayanagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, Shankar Mutt, Austin Town, Kamala Nagar and Frazer Town in Bengaluru central; Domlur, Cambridge Layout and near Lavanya theatre at Pulikeshi Nagar in Bengaluru east apart from Rajajinagar 1st block 18th Cross and Rajajinagar RTO complex in Bengaluru west.

Over the next 24 hours, the Met Department forecasts partly cloudy sky with rain and thundershowers likely towards evening/night in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 and 22 degree Celsius, respectively.
