Members of the BBMP health committee visited six roof-top restaurants and bars in Jayanagar 4th Block on Friday evening and ordered the closure of three for operating without a licence.
The other three were cumulatively fined ₹2.25 lakh for violating hygiene and food safety norms, said Mujahid Pasha, Chairperson of the committee.
The visits are taking place after a fire broke out at a roof-top bar in Mumbai and claimed 18 lives.
"The three places without licences have been told to shut down voluntarily and obtain trade licences. Fire safety norms were also lax," said Mr. Mujahid, who said raids on roof-top pubs, bars and restaurants will continue.
