A 10-ft.-long python which was found at Satya Saibaba Ashram in Whitefield was rescued by the volunteers of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike on Tuesday. A large number of curious onlookers gathered to have a glimpse of the python found resting on the fence of the ashram.
It was a 15-year-old male Indian Rock Python which is non-venomous, C.S. Nagabhushana, who rescued the python, said adding that this is the third such incident where he had rescued a python in the city in the last 15 years.
“We suspect that it could have come from the neighbouring forest areas in search of rats and dogs,” Chief Wildlife Warden, BBMP, Sharath Babu said, adding that the python has been subjected to medical examination and found to be healthy. It would be released in the Bannerghatta National Park.
