The Hindu and T.I.M.E to conduct CSAT workshop
To help civil service aspirants gear up for the upcoming Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations, The Hindu, in association with the Triumphant Institute of Management Education (TIME) will conduct a seminar, Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) 2013 — Approach and Opportunities, here on Sunday, December 23.
The seminar and workshop, which will be handled by experts from TIME, aims at helping the civil service aspirants change their strategy in accordance with the new format for the preliminary round.
“In addition to the usual study work, candidates now also have to think about English comprehension, reasoning, mathematics, decision making and problem solving, which will feature in the preliminary examination,” said TIME Bangalore director Sai Kumar Swamy. The seminar will help students clear their doubts by looking at the CSAT 2011 and CSAT 2012 papers. Experts will also take up question from the previous years’ papers and demonstrate how the questions can be solved.
The preliminary round of the UPSC exam consists of two rounds — General Studies and the CSAT paper. The first will focus on the knowledge of history, geography, current events, governance, economic, social development and general science. The second, which will be discussed at the workshop, will test skills such as logical reasoning and analytical ability, problem solving and data interpretation.
