The staff of the private school in Marathahalli was called to the HAL police station on Wednesday to furnish basic details about themselves and their background.
More than 50 persons, including teachers, had turned up at the station at 8.30 a.m. After the details were submitted, photos were taken of each person. The process went on till evening, sources said.
Shadow teacherSchool authorities said that there was a shadow teacher with the victim throughout. The shadow teacher is paid for by the parents and this woman has been with the child since February this year, sources said. “First, the police said that the incident happened on July 2. On this day, the shadow teacher was absent. Later, police said that the incident happened the next day (July 3). On that day, the teacher was present. So, we do not understand how the child could be alone,” they said. The school staff said they had not been able to contact the shadow teacher and, hence, had not been able to ask what happened on the day of the incident. The sources said that apart from the shadow teacher, there is also a special educator, appointed by the school, who is constantly monitoring the child. The special educator has apparently told the school staff that she was present throughout the day and had not left the child alone. They also said that there is no dark room in the building and denied that anyone had given a bath to the victim on that day.
Sources from the school said that the CCTV footage had gone blank for about 15 minutes after it shows the accused, Mustafa, dragging the girl into a room. Meanwhile, DCP (South East) T.D. Pawar rubbished rumours that the shadow teacher had been detained.
