Passenger caught with over ₹20 lakh in foreign currency

Officials at the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs arrested a businessman from Mumbai at Kempegowda International Airport for allegedly trying to conceal 12,000 in his rectum, and smuggling out cash amounting to lakhs in his baggage.

The accused Manojkumar Brijlal Khemani, 36, had arrived at KIA from Dubai with $21,000 concealed in his check-in baggage, 12,000 rolled up and concealed in his rectum and 500 AED concealed in his wallet. They estimate the currencies amounted to over ₹22.61 lakh. He has been taken into custody.
