April 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - BENGALURU:

To give greater push to rural service, over 13,000 specialists, doctors, and Health and Family Welfare Department employees serving in Bengaluru for over a decade will be transferred by May, said Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader.

He told presspersons that the staff would be transferred through counselling to ensure transparency. Many senior faculty members refused to get posted to district headquarters citing family reasons, Mr. Khader said. On the rising temperature in the State, he said guidelines have been issued to the staff to sensitise the public on do’s and don’ts and management of heatstroke.
